If an EPF member has multiple UAN numbers associated with the same bank account, it creates a problem when trying to access services. In such cases, changing the bank account number is advised. However, if the bank account number is changed, will the problem be solved temporarily or permanently? Is there a possibility that this issue may recur in the future? The fundamental idea behind assigning a unique UAN number to a worker is to ensure each employee has only one PF number.

Dear Mr. Rajendra,

It is not understandable how you have obtained multiple UANs, and that in itself is a significant problem. According to the rules, one should not have two different UAN numbers for a single employee, as it is illegal.

Your first and foremost duty now is to ensure that all transfers from previous employments to your current employer's establishment are consolidated under a new UAN. Failure to do so may lead to severe consequences and legal entanglements. It is imperative that you transfer your PF account as soon as possible.

Thank you.
