I joined the EPF-71 scheme on 27/05/1984 and later enrolled in the EPS 95 scheme starting from 16/11/1995. I retired on 28/05/2018. However, my employer mistakenly reported my EPF-71 joining date as 01/01/1985 instead of the correct date, 27/05/1984, to the pension office. I'm concerned if this error will result in any loss in my pension benefits due to the change in the past service period considered for calculating the pension.

I joined the EPF-71 scheme on 27/05/1984 and the EPS-95 scheme on 16/11/95 before retiring on 28/05/2018. However, my employer mistakenly submitted an EPF-71 joining date of 01/01/1985 instead of the correct date, which is 27/05/1984. I am concerned about how this error might affect the calculation of my pension. Please provide me with information on the impact this discrepancy may have on my pension calculation.

Dear Sir,

Greetings!

If there is a mistake of one year in your EPF department records, it can be corrected with a declaration letter from your last employer. This process is simple if you have not changed jobs and have completed your service in one organization.
