Hi,

I have recently joined a company and am looking to kickstart the appraisal process soon. The company is a startup and currently does not have any defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

I would appreciate assistance in establishing KPIs and acquiring a suitable format for the appraisal forms for the following verticals:
- Business / Data analytics
- Sales Team
- Support Team
- Development Team

Thank you.

Dear Ssaavi,

You cannot have Performance Appraisal (PA) different as per the designation. The PA form remains the same. The policy on PA also remains the same across the organization. What differs are Key Result Areas (KRAs). These KRAs originate from Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Therefore, first, you need to define the KPIs for your business, then derive the KRAs for each department, and then conduct the PA after three or six months. Before conducting the PA, you must provide each individual with his/her KRA sheet at the beginning of the PA cycle. This brings complete clarity to the PA process. Queries on this topic are raised time and again. I have previously provided a comprehensive reply. You may refer to the following link:

Additionally, I have provided further clarification in my second reply to a similar query. The link is as follows:
