What are the conditions that need to be satisfied to prepare a salary slip? I mean, whether an employee should be permanently employed in the company and how much salary amount is necessary to prepare the salary slip. I need your advice.

Hello,

It is possible to prepare a salary slip for any amount, including a NIL value. Also, related information - kindly ensure your wages are above the Minimum Wages for the state. A salary slip is, after all, a document that also serves as proof of whether minimum wages are being paid.

However, curiosity prompts me to ask - why specifically Rs. 2000/-?

For one recently joined employee we paid this compensation and he is asking to issue salary slip. But with this less amount, i think it is not possible to prepare the same.

Dear Bhargabisri,

It is not possible to provide a salary slip below the minimum wage of that particular state. If you provide a salary slip below this amount, then that may lead to legal obligations. Therefore, as per the labor department regulations, you must pay the minimum wage to employees in the unskilled category at least.

If an employee works only part of the month, say 5 days, will you not provide a salary slip? Even for one day of work, a salary slip can be generated. By the way, I am curious to know about your designation mentioned as HR & Accounts, which is unique.
