I have to create an annual health checkup policy for my company. Can you all please help me with this? I need guidance on how to formulate the policy and what key elements to include in it.

Could you also provide any sample policies that could assist me in this process?

Sub: Annual Health Check Up for the Year 2012

Every year we are conducting Annual Health Check up for our employees, this year also we are conducting Annual Health Check up for the eligible employees as per the policy and age criteria as mentioned below :-

The following age groups have been worked out for the periodical AHC:

Sr.No. Age Group Period of Medical Check up Remarks

01 46 Years and above Every Year Eligible for 2012

02 36 to 45 Years Every Two Years Eligible for 2012

03 Up to 35 Years Every Three Years ------- N.A---------.

The following tests will be conducted as finalized in consultation with our Company Dr. D.B.Vyas.

TEST TO BE CONDUCTED

1. Physical Check up 7 Gynac test for Female (P.V & P.S examination)

2. SGPT 8. CBC + ESR

3. Urine Routine 9. S.Creatinine

4. RBS 10. HDL Cholesterol and Total Cholesterol

5. S.Triglycerides OR X-Ray Test 11 Sergical Check up (PR & Procto Scopy)

6 ECG

As per the existing policy, employees & company shall contribute as under:-

The Total package charge quoted at lowest comes to Rs 900 + Rs 111.20 (tax) =1011.20 / (inclusive of Service tax at 12.36%)

a) Employees shall contribute 25% of the total cost (i.e. 252.80)

b) Company shall contribution 75% (i.e. Rs. 758.40)

c) Employees will be allowed 1st half a day OD who are in General Shift to be sanctioned by respective HOD’s well in advanced.

I wanted to know your suggestion on implementing the medical checkup policy for employees aged above 40 and what should be the frequency. Given the post-COVID scenario, is it advisable to have a medical checkup policy in place? Our organization is a mid-sized BFSI Fintech client.

Why not? In fact, people in that age group would appreciate this gesture, and with 2+ years of experience with the pandemic, there can be adequately safe measures for implementing the policy as well.
