Dear All,
I am on contract with an organization, and I completed my term in June for one year. I was told that I would get my extension letter, but I haven't received it yet. I would like to know what is the timeframe that a company should generally have or has to give the contract extension letter. It's been nearly a month for the same.
If one's contract is getting renewed, is it not a policy or should be one to give the same within at least a week of the contract getting over? Kindly help me on this, as I am not really aware of what the timeframe should be.
Thanks! A

Dear Ankita,
Normally, if the contract expires, a new contract letter or renewal letter is provided the next day. If they want to discontinue the contract, then accordingly, one month prior notice should be served. Please check this clause mentioned in the last contract letter.
Some employers have a habit of keeping things on hold and issuing them when they feel like it. They may be in the process of deciding the renewal of the contract. I suggest you talk to your senior and bring their attention to the renewal of the contract.

Dear Bhushan,
Thank you for the reply. I had already spoken with my senior regarding this when the contract ended, but I hadn't received any response. I shall speak with her again and find out about the same. Thank you for the information.
