We have tried our payroll in Tally ERP 9 version under the guidance of tally local technical guys. We came to know that it is not worthy like their financial module and we have raised this query to Tally head office. Eventually we understand that still they are working for better out put in Pay roll version which may take longer time.
As we all know basically tally is financial software which is more useful for accounts department to maintain books in soft mode. We can check the financial position and take reports with once click. To my knowledge Tally is very useful and user friendly for finance/accounts department. As far as payroll is concerned it is not so great, I recommend excel is better option for payroll than tally payroll module. We are using excel for our payout from last ten year accurately. If your company is affordable you may go for any payroll software, these days there are many user friendly payroll software’s available in the market.
