Anupama,
in case if you find uncomfortable to tell straight on ur boss's face, You can do one thing.., just check his mood.. incase you find him in normal mood, causually you can meet him for work purpose and just tell hm..that you heard some one using this language ...and it sounds so cheap... indirectly convey the message. But DO DEFINTELY CONVEY WHAT IS IN YOUR MIND.becoz then ppl keep on take things for granted
This shud be enough for your boss..
Thanks

Hey AS
Its as good idea to convey that but when you call him and tell that I heard using such words in the office then he asks tell me the names who are using it.
I tell you on 5th Feb(Monday) some of the employees wanted to go home early. (Due to Kavery disputes Verdict at 3PM). Since I am new to company I went asked what is the situation what employees have to do? When employees have to leave? who come from long distance (2-3hours distance)?
For that he asks me in return who are asking? who wnats to go?
See here I m in HR I cannot tell individual's name and needs. Action has take for safety of the employees. Instead of thinking safety of the employees he is pointing out employees name and etc...
However you try to tell to such kind of person?? He will not care for ?

Hi annu

You need not use any person's name in specific..you can just tell you heard from a distance ,,and could not make out who the staff was, or during any of your conversation or you can give personal examples during a casual conversation, basically try to convey your greivances indirectly..

or else you can do one thing..also whenever your boss is outside the cabin and is coming towards you..pretend that your are on a call ..and d opp person is abusing you , on the phone you can tell like " y the hell you are using such languages...such abusive (something like that) " i am sure he will get the message..at least he will know that you dont like..these things

Remember it is very important to convey what you hvae in your mind indirectly or directly..i am not telling you to do today..you can try to do these things depending on your office atmosphere

I understand it is not easy but i am sure..these methods will definetly give you some success. who knows you might make him to get rid of his bad habits...

Try ...But do not quit your trials..you will definetly get opportuinites. Always remember the more problem you have you will find your job more challenging..your exp..in solving these problems will make you more stronger, more rational,

I too have gone through lot of problems with my boss and the reason i never quitted my job was my boss's attitude.it was a challenge for me..it was frustating for me..but today as a person i am tougher and helps me dealing with any problem..may be one particualr solution wont work..but atleast others will work, dont get frustrated

chill dont worry..everything will work in order sooner or later..all the best.

Thanks & regards

Before implementing anything,
Put your scheme in paper, get it signed by the director, display it in notice board about the schemes and invite their objections if any.
After a week or two, implement it. Let them realise that it is the scheme approved by the director and they had ample time to voice their objection.
Most gujaratis companies are run without any corporate governance and transparency. So you do not try to implement anything from day 1.

Hello Rashmi
People are tend to react the same way during the introduction of HR Function in an organisation.
And also remember that the people around you who do not talk properly with you, is sick, just say GET WELL SOON and ignore him. they are not in a position to understand that how a yound lady like you can become a Manager. for them it took a years to reach here. it happens with the new employee especially in HR. but let me tell you that you have to pass out from this situation, because this is a test. i had the same experience in the early days of my career, where i just ignored them, and my silence made them come to me with appology later time.
All d best.

Dear Member
Iam also working similar organisation.
To be frank submission ever i am faciling similar kind treatement.
These guys quite far from corporate frame of OB
Slowly we will have to inject into their minds with dimplomacy.
Whatever the policies your implementing ple take approval of directors
so as to aviod down the lane frusturation.
further there is always little scope for injection however we must win their hearts
Best of luck

Hi Rashmi,

All of us face one or other eventualities like this in our day to day functioning. First of all before introducting any new policy we need to see the climate of the organisation whether this policy is acceptable to the management and employees. Though at any point of time this acceptance level may not be 100%, we need to ensure that all home work has been done prior to issuing any new policy.

Whenever we join a new company we tend to make some changes which are urgently required. But this may not yield good result. First of all understand the staff mentality and what is the satisfaction level. Most of the organisation will have its own set of policy and rules. Go thro it first. See whether any prior order or instruction exists on the subject. If so look at the feasibility of incorporating it with some minor changes, if required.

In case you feel the need for introduction of new policy, make the proposal to the management and discuss with them. Before introducing the policy, think once again whether everything is okay.

We need to introduce policies whether the people like it or not but in a convincing way to attain long term result.

Wish you all the best.

Rajan
