I have inquired in all recognized universities in Gujarat, and they have imposed a ban on the registration of Ph.D. for six months. They are stating that the rules are changing through the UGC, and they are introducing an entrance test. Kindly inform me if this ban is also in effect in your state or if the registration process is still ongoing. If so, could you please specify in which recognized university this is happening?

I've also heard from friends that an entrance test is to be introduced for Ph.D. from the next session in Gujarat. However, for the current session, we may register without an exam.
