Hi all,

I have recently joined as an intern, but I don't have much work as of now. I just do what my HR says. I really get bored at times, and after this internship, I have to find a job too. I don't know if I'll get a job here. I am using my time to study new HR concepts. If anyone wants to give me some suggestions, that would be wonderful.

Thank you.

Hi,

Even I am going for a summer internship and not learning as much as I expected. So, I don't think we can do something against it. This is the best way to learn new HR concepts by sitting at home through the internet, books, etc.

Hey,

Sometimes I do get work, but at times it's boring. I feel like jumping somewhere. However, this site helps me in knowing many things, and the good thing is that I am getting a stipend here. If there are any job openings anywhere, please let me know. I have completed my masters in social work with a specialization in Human Resource. This is my final internship that I have to do, so if there is any chance anywhere, please help me out. Mostly looking for a generalist profile; recruitment will work too, but preference is for a generalist role.

Hello Deepti,

You are lucky to get paid for doing nothing. I was too, even as a worker. I know that pretending to be busy is the most boring and frustrating thing. As a student of management, you can start observing what goes on around you; how people interact, etc. Also, try to keep a diary soon after reaching home and reflect on what was going on and why? Interact with people, become friends with them, and ask questions. Draw an organization chart, flow charts of various activities that go on at work, etc. See how the processes could be improved by eliminating non-value-added activities.

You need to take the initiative. I know one student who was studying for BSc in Marketing, who went for an internship and got a job as a Product Manager by doing what I am suggesting.

I prepared a PowerPoint presentation that was never delivered. I have attached the same.

I would like to have some feedback: what points have I not covered, etc.

Best wishes,

Narasimhan

Hello,

I am also doing my summer internship and at times, I also get bored. I feel like running away because sitting alone and surfing the net from 10:00 am to 6 pm is really very difficult and somewhat impossible for a person. But now, I have set a short-term goal for myself. I will be preparing a very good project report that will be beneficial to the organization and will add to my knowledge and experience.

Hi,

I suggest that you tell the on-site intern supervisor that you want more engagement. As was suggested, see where there is an opportunity to use initiative to work on a project or contribute to the solution of a problem. I find that when interns come forward and ask for more challenge and more participation, the organization often responds. If you are particularly interested in a facet of HR, ask if you can work more closely with those engaged in that type of work. In any newcomer role, it's important to demonstrate that you are willing to be helpful and support the team.

Cheers

Hey, thanks, guys for your suggestions. I'm doing my best to gain knowledge in all possible ways. My senior has assigned me work, and I will surely implement all the suggestions you guys gave. Thanks, guys.

Hey, there's a performance-related pay issue happening in our organization. If you guys could help me out. Actually, the HR here is in its initial stage. While reviewing the performance-related pay, it was noted that last time there was a significant difference in the PRP given to some employees. If we introduce something new, it may become an issue. What do you guys suggest?

Hi everybody,

One of my friends is pursuing MSW (HRM) in Chennai and is seeking a good entry into the corporate sector, especially in the field of CSR. Soon, she will finish her course.

I request your assistance for the same. :icon1:
